Senecio tropaelifolius, native to Africa, forms a thickened, gnarly caudiciform-type base topped with irregularly rounded fleshy pale green leaves that are violet underneath. Natural bonsai subjects.Yellow florets (compound flowers formed of many tiny flowers). Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light with ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Less water during winter months. Protect from frost. Senecio tropaeolifolius has a pretty yellow flower blooming spring into summer at times. Propogate by cuttings. |
